AZRYAIN BORHAN
Azryain is the Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Perintis Sdn Bhd (Pinnacle Perintis). He possesses more than 20 years’ experience in innovation, corporate governance, sustainability and strategic management. Azryain served Johor Corporation (JCorp) as Advisor, Business Continuity from November 2014 – December 2020. He developed and implemented JCorp Strategic Innovation and Corporate Responsibility Frameworks. As Executive Director of N2W Corporation Sdn Bhd, he led the development of six (6) innovative products/services. Azryain also coached JCorp management team and staff on innovation as well as advised on matters pertaining to corporate governance and sustainability.
Between May 2007 – April 2013, Azryain was the Director of Companies Commission of Malaysia’s (SSM) Corporate Development & Policy Division and later, the SSM Training Academy. His managed corporate learning, thought leadership, regulatory & policy development, risk management, project management & monitoring, strategic planning, economic intelligence, accounting development and international networking portfolios. While in SSM, Azryain was seconded to the Special Innovation Unit, Prime Minister’s Office. There, he proposed the setting up of a specialized body to drive the national innovation agenda and crafted its legislation.
Azryain was the Assistant Vice President, Legal and Support, Khazanah Nasional, between May 2006 – April 2007. He managed the company secretarial and legal aspects of various investments. Azryain also served as a legal manager to a corporate personality between December 2004 – April 2006 where he advised on oil & gas, shipping, biotechnology and retail. Azryain served the Securities Commission as Senior Prosecuting Officer in the Enforcement Division and later, as Senior Associate in the Securities Issues Division from August 2000 – December 2004.
Azryain is listed in Islamica 500 2017: The 500 Who Make the Islamic Economy. He was a faculty member of Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia. Azryain was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1999. He practiced with Messrs. Khaw & Partners and Messrs. Zul Rafique & Partners specializing in civil litigation and corporate advisory.
