Why must participate?
The importance of corporate governance in the 21st century cannot be understated. With looming uncertainties, managing corporate governance becomes a complex matter of balancing multiple and often conflicting factors. The new corporate governance landscape is characterized by complex set of pressures and demands from various stakeholders and heightened corporate citizenship. Paradoxically, this enlarged purview does not diminish a company’s/organization’s responsibilities to its shareholders/stakeholders. Rather, it implies the need for a paradigm shift in the nature and scope of organizational leadership, management and accountability.
Corporate governance comprises of system, process and structure underpinned by the principles of integrity to catalyse the smooth running of corporations/organizations. Its framework and practices must be aligned with the new landscape and prioritized needs of corporations/organizations.
